Bars
The old town of Palma is filled with little bars, clubs and restaurants. Here are a few bars you may want to try:
Mojo Bar, Palma de Mallorca – La Llonja A cute little arty bar hidden up c/Apuntadors in the old town, this bar has wonderfully ornate doors and the most fabulous chandelier in the entrance. It’s a relaxed and friendly place, good for a warm up drink before heading to one of the livelier bars in the area. It has an excellent cocktail list and chilled club tunes play in the background. -Mojo Bar
Woody+ Bar, Palma de Mallorca – Can Barbara Woody+ is a very cool, late-opening DJ club/bar to be found at the western end of Passeig Maritim in the Can Barbara marina area, close to Club de Mar. It’s a smart, sexy bar, with a fabulous terrace (which also acts as a restaurant) overlooking a small marina. The large central bar means you won’t have to wait too long for your next drink. Open to 3am (4am Friday & Saturday).
Abaco Bar
Abaco Bar, Palma de Mallorca – La Llonja Renowned and beautiful courtyard bar in the heart of the old town. Hidden behind huge old and unassuming doors, this bar serves some of the best (and most expensive) cocktails in Palma, in the most unusual surroundings. Expect birdcages, flowers, fountains and old-style waiters. Open til 1am (3am on Friday & Saturday). –Abaco Bar
Es Jac, Palma de Mallorca – La Llonja Es Jac is an uber-cool cocktail bar not for the faint-hearted in the heart of La Llonja, the old town of Palma. It’s quite small, is painted white throughout and in the middle of the room, there is a very large urn with some sort of tree growing out of it. Very art-installation-esque, and quite fun and unusual. With a good sound track in the background, a TV showing arty-verging-on-porn-films, and the typical cocktail menu, it’s a place where you can feel more cool and arty than you actually are… Open til 1am during the week, and 3am at weekends.
Agua Bar, Palma de Mallorca – La Llonja Agua has always been regarded as a cool place to hang out, and when you come into the bar you’ll hear why they are known for playing the best music in Palma. Don’t expect sexy chill-out tunes and cocktails here though, it’s more of a indie/classic 70s/80’s/90’s place. A full range of spirits is available, with good wine selections, bottled beers and Guinness™ and Kronenbourg 1664 on tap. It’s in the heart of the old town in La Llonja, and stays open until late. –Agua Bar

El Garito Cafe, Palma de Mallorca – Can Barbara In the early evening the music can be anything from fusioned jazz, pure jazz and even if the latest tendencies in electronic music are played, the vibe will always remain “lounge ambient”. At night the music progresses towards dance rythms, programming practically every style of dance music possible, depending on the day of the week and theme chosen. Lots of fun and open til 4am at weekends. -El Garito Cafe
Idem Bar, Palma de Mallorca – Santa Catalina A sexy little cocktail bar in Santa Catalina, this place is decked out in red velvets and baroque mirrors. With erotic art on the walls and a boudoir style, it’s certainly a place for adults only. It opens at 8/9pm and picks up with the pre-club crowd later in the evening. Closing time is 3am in summer and 2am in winter.
